Description: Athletes in orienteering use map and compass to navigate their way over rough ground, through forest terrain – occasionally through a more urban setting as well – to find the control points forming the course. Electronic equipment verifies that these points have been passed in the right order. Other than that: the clock is the judge – the fastest time wins! Advanced map reading skills are in high demand.
